Finding something healthy in an Italian restaurant can often feel like mission impossible.

But rest assured! Because amongst all that dough, grease and cheese, Pizza Express promises some relatively low-calorie dishes.

Here’s our favourites:

1) Leggera Superfood Salad

We’re all guilty of skipping straight past the salads, however this one is absolute flavour-filled game-changer!

The black rice, edamame bean, quinoa, mung bean, chickpea, cranberry, pumpkin seed & kale combo is served on a bed of mixed leaves alongside some roasted peppers & red onion – sounds tasty, right?

And for just 472 calories and an impressive 14.6g of plant based protein, you really can’t go wrong.

2) Pandana Leggera (pizza)

This pizza, topped with goat’s cheese, caramelised onion & spinach, is an absolute winner if you’re looking for a something low in calories but high in taste. With just 465 cals and a considerable 15.8g of protein, it’s a great choice... Plus, it’s vegetarian!

3) Cannelloni (pasta)

Fancy some pasta? Then this spinach, ricotta, mozzarella & gran Milano dish is your best bet. With a total of 760 calories and an impressive 36.1g of protein per portion, it’s a great choice. Especially if you compare it to the Pollo Pesto pasta dish which clocks in at a whopping 1195 calories – ouch!

4) Leggera Pollo ad Astra (pizza)

No carbs before Marbs? Forget that!

Because this chicken, mozzarella, sweet pepper & red onion pizza totals just 486 calories. Plus, thanks it the 36.9g of protein, it’s the perfect choice if you’re looking to keep it relatively lean.

As for dessert? Why not try their Raspberry Sorbet? This refreshing finisher has just 100 calories and is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!

So, there you have it! 4 meals (and a guilt-free dessert) that promise lots of flavour & minimal damage to the waistline. Enjoy!
