Crispy and crunchy chicken goujons are a firm favourite in countless households.

Whether bought from the local KFC store , or purchased pre-made from the supermarket, these luscious chicken strips are typically doused in grease (and often covered in sugary sauce).

That’s why we’ve gathered some super quick and easy goujon recipes that guarantee the flawless flavour without wreaking havoc with the waistline.

Whether you make them with whole-wheat breadcrumbs, seeds, or even Doritos, have a crack!

1) Classic chicken goujons coated with whole-wheat crumbs

For these classic chicken strips, you'll need:

Method:

  1. First things first, preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Next up, Spray a large baking tray with a little bit of olive oil and place to one side for later on.
  3. Now for the best bit...Start by slicing the chicken breast into long strips before sprinkling with salt and pepper.
  4. Now, crack the egg into bowl and whisk with a fork. Next, pour the breadcrumbs onto a plate, and handling one piece of chicken at a time, dip the chicken in the beaten eggs before coating with the breadcrumbs.
  5. Repeat the process before placing on the baking tray.
  6. All that's left to do is cook for 20-25 minutes (or until the breadcrumbs are golden and the chicken is white in the centre).
